Labour Peer slams Brown

In a withering onslaught on the Prime Minister, Lord Desai said: “Gordon Brown was put on earth to remind people how good Tony Blair was.”

[For those of us who needed reminding.]

To those in Labour who don’t yet understand:

It’s getting worse, not better.

I don’t think ANYONE will persuade Blair back into the lion’s den to face the idiotic Lippies, (liberal intelligentsia press) et al. But you never know! There’s little that can save Labour in 2009/10 – or Blair’s Labour legacy, except possibly Cameron.

If you think Labour can win in 2014/15 with Miliband, you are in for yet another disappointment.

Only Blair can get you out of this mess.

Sorry, if that hurts. I don’t think he’s superman or that he walks on water – but come ON!

Any safe seat going begging soon? It’d have to be VERY safe. Or is there another way someone who is not an MP can be drafted in to become PM? A state of emergency situation?

I don’t think so, but I am no constitutionalist.

All very sad and oh so unnecessary.

What was it David Miliband said on Question Time a year ago?

In a year they’ll all be saying we’ve had enough of that Gordon Brown. Can’t we have Tony Blair back?

How right he was.

Yes – bring back Tony Blair!

All is forgiven (if there was anything to forgive in the first place!)

Is this what some of you are thinking, after all the shenanigans of the last several weeks and months?

If not, perhaps you should be. What an absolute mess!

You might be thinking – This is MY country too; MY government, in MY name.

It was Your Prime Minister they dispatched so carelessly, whether we, the electorate, liked it or not.

It might be Your data lost; Your building society account under threat; Your business having to fold or pay through the nose via the new CGT arrangements!

And Your government which has learned nothing, after the last year and a half, about keeping its own nose clean on how it handles its internal financial affairs.

So now, is it time to shift this Prime Minister?gordonbrowndespair.gif

Of course, the other one isn’t going to come back. He’s too busy sorting out bigger problems. His circle of influence has widened.

We lost a good ‘un … and found, well, a replacement.

But, you can’t say you weren’t warned.

It would cause internecine warfare within the Labour party were the thought even put to Tony Blair. And in any case, he would turn it down, I’m sure.

Still, if you are a Labour MP who would sacrifice your seat for the sake of your country – get in touch. Nothing is published here without your say-so.

Go and visit my other blog – (click here) – ‘Keep Tony Blair for PM’ for plenty of reasons, apart from avoiding looming disaster, for a re-think.

Otherwise, enjoy the rest of Labour’s Golden Days.
