This site was put up in response to numerous search terms of “bring back tony blair”. I DO realise that is highly unlikely to happen for all sorts of reasons.
But if you’d like to follow my main site, with regular updates, and the history of Mr Blair please click here.
Many thanks.
I watched some of the video on Taliban beheadings.
It is very hard for a Westener to comprehend but for a Muslim it is not really anything.
I am an American living in Israel since 1975. Arabs here practice revenge killings and family honor killing like the rest of the middle east, except the Israeli goverment does not tolerate it at all.
So if you have a people with a mind set that to kill a daughter for family honor is acceptable and desired by the parents then you begin to understand the mind set for terrorism, revenge killing, killing to protect the faith etc…
The beheadings were performed like it was work to be done. Routine, no emotion, like killing chickens.
So maybe this can be an insight into appreciating what the west is all about, even with its imperfections.
Thanks for your comment Mr Beneliezer.
I too would like to think that these accounts of these regular and accepted “punishments” in some societies would help us appreciate what we in the west have in our democracies and in our aims and (usual) achievement of humane treatment for all.
But I doubt it somehow.
I have had to conclude in recent times than many in the “liberal” west are crazed and obsessed with the idea that we can all think and feel the same if only given half a chance. This is a kind of self-assurance bordering on vanity, if not insanity. The result? Our strongest enemy is within our own democracies.
